MELKODIGE ESTATE

Born of the mountain, made for the cup.

Melkodige Coffee Estate is a testament to Karnataka’s celebrated coffee culture. Nestled in the Kudremukh mountain range at 4,000 feet above mean sea level, our 250-acre estate represents three generations of dedication to exceptional coffee cultivation.

The unique geography of our location—characterised by humus rich soil, consistent monsoon patterns, and a thriving tapestry of native biodiversity—creates the perfect environment for slow-maturing Arabica.

Our coffee reflects this distinctive sense of place, delivering complex flavours that speak of the land’s natural character.
From seed to cup, every process unfolds on our estate, ensuring complete traceability and unwavering quality standards.

ABOUT US

Three Generations of Coffee Excellence

Melkodige’s story began in the 1940s when our founders recognised the exceptional potential of this high-altitude landscape. Today, Aveen and Yogitha Rodrigues—both trained horticulturists—continue this legacy with scientific precision and deep respect for the land.

PROCESS

Precision Processing, Character Preservation.

Washed
Processing

We produce washed coffees through wet milling, where the cherry is pulped to remove the husk and the beans are passed through an aqua washer to remove mucilage before drying.

Natural
Processing

Ripe red cherries are processed by drying the whole coffee cherries directly in the sun, allowing the fruit to impart its sweetness and complexity to the bean.
